Cirkus opened in 1892 to host the era’s leading circus troupes and has since become a premier venue for concerts, TV recordings, theater, and musicals. Today, it stands as Northern Europe’s largest private theater, owned by Pophouse, founded by Björn Ulvaeus and Conni Jonsson. In 2019, following extensive renovations, Cirkus refreshed its culinary and cultural offerings, interiors, and overall tone to inspirecuriosity and challenge expectations. SpoilConcept produced the opening evening, themed Join the Circus: a thrilling, inclusive night of surprises where the historic venue came alive through performances by drag queens, burlesque artists, sword swallowers, and fakirs.
