Charlotte Gyllenhammar achieved her breakthrough in 1993 with Die For You, suspending a 120-year-old oak tree across Drottninggatan in Stockholm. Today, she is one of Sweden’s most renowned contemporary artists, with her work exhibited in prestigious venues such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Venice Biennale. In 2023, she was named Artist of the Year by the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation, which commissioned her to create a permanent sculpture for the Princess Estelle Sculpture Park on Royal Djurgården.
